The Christmas Blessing

What will you give this Christmas?

Everyone loves to receive a gift at Christmas! It is a wonderful way to express our love for one another. The Bible says that God demonstrated His love for us by giving us a wonderful gift in Jesus Christ, His son (John 3:16). What a great gift! His gift prompts us to give back to Him as we share this news with others. We constantly share here in our community and each year reach out to other parts of our world with the love of Christ. This year our mission teams will travel to the Dominican Republic and Alaska to take the gift of Jesus to others. Your financial gift helps to make all these efforts (and more) possible. Give generously!

An important fact about Christmas Giving

Every August, we carefully prepare a ministry budget for the upcoming year. Of course, in order for us to accomplish all that is outlined in our church approved budget, we must be faithful as a faith family in our giving. Believe it or not, what we give during the holiday season accounts for almost 20% of our entire giving for the year. That makes what we give of tremendous importance! It is too costly for us not to reach our goal this year. Please pray. Please give.

Six Projects to Feed the Hungry and Bring Water to the Thirsty

This year’s theme for Christmas Blessing comes from John 6:35. Our special over and above projects are all about feeding the hungry and giving water to the thirsty... both spiritually and physically.

Project 1- Discipling Spiritually Hungry Adults
To be a place of life-change, we have to be able to disciple adults, and yet we are almost out of space for Bible Fellowships. In January, we will install a modular classroom building that will provide space for up to 9 new Bible Fellowships. Project 1 covers the cost to install this modular and spiritually nourish adults in our community.

Project 2- Bringing Living Water to a Desperate Place
Each day, literally thousands of people die from lack of clean water. Providing a source of clean water not only gives these people the chance for life, it opens the door for us to share eternal life. Project 2 provides for at least one safe, clean water well in earthquake, hurricane, and disease ravaged Haiti.

Project 3- Giving Young People the Chance for a Life-Changing Mission
An international mission trip, like the one some of our high school and college students will take this Spring Break to the Dominican Republic, not only brings the good news of Jesus to spiritually lost people, it also impacts the life of the one that goes. Project 3 will fund scholarships for as many students as possible to take the Bread of Life to the Dominican Republic.

Project 4- Bringing Hope to the Hopeless in Prison
For those in our jails and prisons, life can seem to lack hope, and for many the one thing that can really change their life remains out of reach- the Word of God. Project 4 will provide hundreds of Bibles to spiritually hungry prisoners.

Project 5- Taking Food and Faith to the World
The Southern Baptist World Hunger Fund provides food for starving people all over the world. 100% of every dollar given goes directly to food both here (20%) and around the world (80%). Project 5 will send thousands of dollars to support the work of missionaries who feed the hungry, heal the sick, and share the Gospel.

Project 6- Taking Food, Water and Hope to People in Crisis

Last year, tornadoes devastated Joplin, Missouri, Almost every year, some form of crisis hits an area of our nation. This year, we want to be ready to respond with a crisis team to take needed supplies, assistance, and the love of Jesus to the affected area. Project 6 establishes the fund for this team to respond with physical and spiritual food to the next crisis.
