Life Change

At Bear Creek, we believe in being a place of real life-change, and we believe this happens as every person is moved to WORSHIP, God passionately, GROW together authentically, SERVE others sacrificially, and SHARE Christ everywhere.

This summer we are calling on every person in our faith to either make or renew a commitment to four tangible expressions of these four discipleship practices.

WORSHIP God passionately by giving

Giving back to God is an expression of worship demonstrated throughout the Bible. From the sacrifices of the Old Testament to the sacrificial gifts of the early church in the New Testament giving has been a way that God's people honor him. In giving, we recognize with thanksgiving what God has done in our lives. We confess dependence upon him to meet our needs over and above what we have given back to him. And, we strike at the heart of the most prevalent idol in our lives- our stuff.

GROW together authentically in a Bible Fellowship

The dynamics of being connected to a biblical community are powerful. The truth is we grow better, faster, deeper, and more solidly in a group than we do trying to make it on our own. In a Bible Fellowship you get the accountability and encouragement you need to make it through discouraging times. With knowledgeable and gifted teachers guiding the way, you dig deeper into God's Word an learn more how to study the Bible for yourself. Bible Fellowships also give you an environment to explore and use your own gifts as you learn to minister to others.

SERVE others sacrificially in ministry

Giving ourselves away is the natural fruit of spiritual growth. Why? Because it makes us more like Jesus than anything else that we do. God has shaped you for a purpose, and part of your spiritual journey is finding that purpose and living it out by ministering to others. The church is called the Body of Christ, and every body is only healthy if every part is functioning along with the others. Your place serving in the Body of Christ is valuable.

SHARE Christ everywhere

God has planted you in a unique mission field. Your workplace, neighborhood, and other circles of influence give you the opportunity to make an impact for the Kingdom. One of the simplest ways for you to do that is by inviting a person in your life to church with you. You don't have to be a theologian, perfect, or have half the Bible memorized to extend a simple invitation- just willing.
