In June of 2001 David was called by Bear Creek to serve as Lead Pastor.  He leads our church in vision-casting, preaching/teaching, staff leadership and shepherding.  Prior to becoming our Pastor, David served at Geyer Springs Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR for nearly 13 years.

David believes that God has led us to be a fully biblical church that is passionate about connecting spiritually needy people to a relationship with Jesus, and that is making fully-devoted followers of Jesus.  He leads our staff to create biblical, relevant, and creative environments in every part of our ministry.  He is personally committed to teaching the life-changing truth of the Bible week by week.

David married BJ in 1986 and they have two daughters, Julie, born in 1989 and Jennifer, born in 1991.

David grew up in a small town in west Texas on a family farm along with his parents and 3 brothers.  He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983 (B.A.) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987 (M.Div).
