We are excited about missions in 2014. There are two great places where we have established ministry over the past 2-3 years that have great spiritual need—the Dominican Republic and Alaska.

Alaska is the least-churched state in US and we have been blessed to see wonderful change in the lives of many throughout the city as a result of ongoing summer ministry. We will continue working with GraceWorks in Anchorage.  This is an excellent trip for families and individuals of all ages.

The last two years, our young people have traveled to the Dominican Republic to work with the South Texas Children’s Ministry in their work as an orphanage. We are sending another student team again in March to continue this work. We should have trip details very soon.

In addition, we are most excited to connect with a congregation in the DR where we can provide intentional, ongoing ministry over the course of the next 3-5 years. This will afford Bear Creek the opportunity to send various types of teams— construction, medical, and discipleship groups such as VBS, leadership training, etc.  In fact, it is our hope to send a construction team this summer to build a chapel for our newly adopted faith family.

Both the Dominican Republic and Alaska are great places for families and people of all ages to travel. They are day’s journey, affordable and safe. Most of all, they are life-changing for all involved. It doesn’t matter if you are a veteran mission goer or a first-timer, you will be blessed beyond measure as you go and teach the love of Christ to people in need of the gospel

Please pray about your participation this year. We will post mission trips and their details as they are developed.

Dominican Republic - 20 Spaces Available

March 15-22 •  Cost- $1,650 •  Deposit- $250 *

Primary Team Makeup: High School and College Students

The Bear Creek team is hoping to travel to Santiago and work with Grace Baptist Church. There is a Christian School across the road where children from three orphanages attend. The church hopes to construct a safe playground for the children with the help from Bear Creek.

The South Texas Children's Home Ministries has an important presence in the Dominican Republic working with the children. There are many opportunities for sharing Christ through Vacation Bible Schools, Orphanage visits, construction projects, nutrition and parenting workshops to name a few. The Dominican Republic offers a stable political climate and friendly culture for families and young people to serve. All work is an investment into the future of the children to become leaders of tomorrow in their homeland.

Alaska - 12 Spaces Available

July 27-  August 2 •  Cost- TBA  •  Deposit- $250*

Primary Team Focus: Adults and Families

Alaska is home to some of our country's most beautiful landscapes. It is also one of the most unchurched places in our nation. Despite it's richness in natural resources and beauty, it is the spiritual landscape that is the least developed.

This trip will focus primarily on evangelism including ministry outreach activities in parks. It will also have some light construction elements. This trip is open to any adult and is a great trip for families. Cost includes all travel from Houston, onsite transportation and expenses.

*Deposits are required by the stated deadline to reserve your spot.

Cancellation/Refunds: We understand that circumstances change that may prevent someone from following through with a commitment to participate in an upcoming trip. As much as we would like to refund deposits and payments, we are limited by the financial commitments we have already made on your behalf as a church purchasing airline tickets, setting non-refundable reservations, etc.

Scholarship Gifts: If you would like to provide scholarship funds towards one of these trips, please designate the participant's name in the designated box on the payment form. Please understand that all gifts will go toward the individual's trip costs. Any overages will be placed in our general scholarship fund to assist other individuals.
