We are excited about missions in 2014. There are two great places where we have established ministry over the past 2-3 years that have great spiritual need—the Dominican Republic and Alaska.
Alaska is the least-churched state in US and we have been blessed to see wonderful change in the lives of many throughout the city as a result of ongoing summer ministry. We will continue working with GraceWorks in Anchorage. This is an excellent trip for families and individuals of all ages.
The last two years, our young people have traveled to the Dominican Republic to work with the South Texas Children’s Ministry in their work as an orphanage. We are sending another student team again in March to continue this work. We should have trip details very soon.
In addition, we are most excited to connect with a congregation in the DR where we can provide intentional, ongoing ministry over the course of the next 3-5 years. This will afford Bear Creek the opportunity to send various types of teams— construction, medical, and discipleship groups such as VBS, leadership training, etc. In fact, it is our hope to send a construction team this summer to build a chapel for our newly adopted faith family.
Both the Dominican Republic and Alaska are great places for families and people of all ages to travel. They are day’s journey, affordable and safe. Most of all, they are life-changing for all involved. It doesn’t matter if you are a veteran mission goer or a first-timer, you will be blessed beyond measure as you go and teach the love of Christ to people in need of the gospel
Please pray about your participation this year. We will post mission trips and their details as they are developed.
