Missions


 

Sharing Christ is the fundamental mission of the church. It is taking the good news that Jesus Christ has made available to every person through His death on the cross and resurrection. As believers, we have received this great gift and it is both a responsibility and a joy to take it and share it with others.

 

 

We live in a unique time where it is easier to go to the remotest parts of the world than it has ever been, and yet there are still millions of people who do not know about Jesus. Two ways you can make a difference:

 


Giving to missions- Your giving to Bear Creek helps fund over 10,000 missionaries around the world and in the U.S. It also helps support international mission trips from Bear Creek. Many choose to give over and above their regular tithe to further support missionaries.

 
Going on a Mission Trip- Each year several teams of regular Bear Creek Members just like you go on short term mission trips and make a real impact for Christ. In the past Bear Creek has taken mission trips to Bangladesh, Brazil, Guatemala, Hungary, Mongolia, Mexico, Peru, and Ukraine (just to name a few). The next trip could be your opportunity to go and share Christ "to the ends of the earth."

 

 

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC    •    ALASKA

 

Dominican Republic

March 10-17 •  Cost- $1,700  •  Deposit- $250 Due by December 31, 2011*

Primary Team Focus: High School and College Students

 

The South Texas Children's Home Ministries has an important presence in the Dominican Republic working with the children. There are many opportunities for sharing Christ through Vacation Bible Schools, Orphanage visits, construction projects, nutrition and parenting workshops to name a few. The Dominican Republic offers a stable political climate and freindly culture for families and young people to serve. All work is an investment into the future of the children to become leaders of tomorrow in thier homeland.

 

Alaska

July 8-14•  Cost- $1,700  •  Deposit- $250 Due by January 30,2012*

Primary Team Focus: Adults and Families

 

Alaska is home to some of our country's most beautiful landscapes. It is also one of the most unchurched places in our nation. Despite it's richness in natural resources and beauty, it is the spiritual landscape that is the least developed.

 

This trip will focus primarily on evangelism including ministry outreach activities in parks. It will also have some light construction elements. This trip is open to any adult and is a great trip for families. 

 

*Deposits are required by the stated deadline to reserve your spot.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Cancellation/Refunds: We understand that circumstances change that may prevent someone from following through with a commitment to participate in an upcoming trip. As much as we would like to refund deposits and payments, we are limited by the finanical commitments we have already made on your behalf as a church purchaseing airline tickets, setting non-refundable reservations, etc.  

 

Scholarship Gifts: If you would like to provide scholarship funds towards one of these trips, please designate the participant's name in the designated box on the payment form. Please understand that all gifts will go toward the individual's trip costs. Any overages will be placed in our general scholarship fund to assist other individuals.
