What is Treasure Quest?

Treasure Quest is a spiritual journey inspired by Matthew 6:19-21Matthew 6:19-21. Jesus challenged us to look at where we place our treasure because it identifies where we place our heart. He also made it clear that He offered an eternal treasure that can't be destroyed by the world. Imagine a treasure that can't be taken by a  layoff, an illness, or any other crisis this world can throw at it. Ultimately, the Treasure Quest is about what we worship and how.

Throughout the summer, we will be examining what we value and where our heart lies. While this journey is primarily an inward journey of the heart, it is also has important outward expressions. As God works in your heart, there will be areas of your life that He calls you to take action in. One area that scripture challenges for all of us is giving. Each of us should examine this area of our discipleship, and pray about how we can grow in faithfulness. Giving back to God in a generous and sacrificial way is part of His process for helping us discover the treasure that He has for us. An important part of this journey for our faith family is meeting a goal of giving $761,000 through the summer months. (Click here for more information about the goal)

How Does Giving Relate to Discipleship?

Luke 6:38The Bible describes giving as an important test of faithfulness for us and a doorway to God's blessing. God chooses to bless us in many ways (physically, spiritually, financially, etc.) in proportion to how we choose to give. In fact, He multiplies the blessing that He pours out on our lives.

God has also chosen to use our gifts to resource the work of ministry. Everything that happens through the ministry of Bear Creek to share Christ with our community and our world happens because of the gifts that we give.
